THE IMPERIAL SERVICE ORDER.
CEREMONY AT WELLINGTON,
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)

The ceremony of handing to the New Zealand recipients of y tho Imperial Service Order the handsome star and ribton and the letters patent signed by his Majesty the King conferring the decoration, took place at the Governor's office this morning. The members of the Ministry and a number of departmental heads were present. The recipients were:—Colonel R. J. Collins (secretary to the Treasury), Mr Wm. C. Kensington (Under-Secretary of Lands), and Mr J. K. Logan. (Superintendent of Telegraphs). In carrying out the investiture, his Excellency remarked that the British Empire owed much to tho splendid men who carried- on- the- -work- of' the Civil Service, and he could without boasting say that our Civil Service had developed to such a degree that it was our pride, and the onvy of foreign nations.
The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) added his congratulations, and the recipients of tho Order suitably acknowledged the remarks.
