SHIPPING ACCIDENT AT AKAROA.
The Peninsula trader Deveron met with an accident whilst coming up Akaroa harbour yesterday. While tacking from Wainui she missed stays off Red House Bay reef, and the wind "dropping, she drifted on to the rocks, knocking a nolo in her. By mows of constant pumping she was able to reach the Akaroa wharf, where tho hole was temporarily patched. She proceeded to Duvauchelle to unload, her cargo of cement, some few barrels of which were damaged. The vessel will be beached for repairs.
