The'annual "report of the-directors of the Central Dairy Company states that the quantity of butter manufactured by the company during the year had shown an increase of 420,5201b as compared with tbe previous year. The pro-, fit and .loss account showed a surplus of £3809 83 4d, including £1218 0s 7d brought forward from last year. The directors recommended the appropriation of tho surplus as follows:—To pay the iisual 6 ,per cent, dividend, amounting to £780; to write off buildings and machinery, £1000; to pay a bonus to milk suppliers of id, £930; to pay a bonus of 5 per cent, on wages and salaries to those employees not affected by any award of the Arbitration Court, £70; £500 to be applied in reducing the mortgage; the balance to be carried forward. The total milk supply received for the year was 47,563,7381b. The averago price paid to milk suppliers has been 10.037, and with the proposed bonus of id per lb would make 11.062 for the year, which was considere_ a very satisfactory return. The butter manufactured had been 2,018,0451b, or 901 tons, against 711 tons for the previous year. The London shipments cohsisted of 12,443 boxes, or 311 tons, tlie balance being disposed*of in the Dominion. The quantity of milk taken to make lib of butter was 23.24. Present conditions indicated a good supply of milk, and fair prices might be looked for.
