MINING.

(special to "the press.")

GREYMOUTH, July 15. Good gold has been struck at the head of Flowery Creek; the prospects have given as much as ldwt to the dish. The ground is situated adjacent to the mouth of the Kelly terracedrainage tunnel, and close to the site of Messrs Rhodda and Peebles old sawmill, and it is eaid that there is a considerable extent of new country at the back of it. Before six o'clock last evening seventeen claims had been pegged out, covering an area of over eleven acres. The Kelly's terrace drainage tunnel contractors have had a special claim pegged out for sonic- time in close proximity to the find.
