HOKITIKA, July 14. The steamer Jane Douglas went ashore when leaving Okarito, through the tiller ropes fouling. Tho local gear was insufficiont to h-aul the boat off, and ropes are now being sent from South overlaid. SALVAGING STRANDED SCHOONER. (PREBfi ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS.) GISBORNE, July 14. The steamer Victoria landed Mr Gonk at Tokomaru this morning, and the small goer for the salvage of the stranded schooner Kaeo, which is expected to bo floated in a few days. The efforts made yesterday to recover the anchors were unsuccessful. The sea is moderating to-day.
