FIGHTING IN SIDE STREETS.
RUSSIAN TROOPS IN READINESS. (Received July 14th, 9.50 p.m.) TEHERAN, July 14. The Persian Cossacks are concentrated at— their headquarters,' around which axe posted guns. Both sides profess to be on the defensive, but considerable firing is proceeding down side streets. The Russian flag was hoisted on the residence of the Russian Consul. Tho entire northern portion of the city is in the hands of the Nationalists. There are 800 Russian troops at Kazrin, able, if summoned, to enter Teheran in three days. ' The Shah's failure to ; send envoys before eunset on Monday empowered to negotiate for an armistice, led to a rapture of pourparlers. The Shah is now at Sultanabad. Twelve men were killed in defending the northern gate at Teheran against the entry of the Nationalists. The iatter's welcome was enthusiastic. They enrolled and armed 3000 of the population. . The Nationalist leader declares they will be loyal to the Shah, and have only come to re-establish tho Constitu tion.
