♦ J PROPOSED ROAD RACE. TJMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH. Tho League of New Zealand .\Y heelmen, having, assumed control of road racing, announces its intention to inaugurate an annual road race, to bo held under ite auspices. It is proposed that the course should be from Timaru to Christchurch and that the race should be carried out on lines similar to road races hitherto held over this course. It is proposed to hold the inaugural race on Saturday, October 30th. This date, though somewhat I'ater than usual, has been fixed for the reason that weather and road conditions are more favourable then, and also to allow intending competitors a longer period for active training.
