EDUCATION BOARD ELECTIONS.
THE NOMINATIONS,
Yesterday nominations were received for three vacancies on. the North Canterbury Board of Education, the seats of tho representatives of tho North, South, and Central Words having bocorao vacant by effluxion of time.
Only ono nomination, that of Mr Matthew Dalzell, of Amborloy, was received in respect to tho vacancy on the North 'Ward. Mr Dalzell, who is the sitting member, was declared reelected. . . , For tho South Ward there wore two nominations. Mr John Ronnie, of Doyleston, - the sitting member, will be opposed by Mr W. R. Smith, of ChristS nurch, tho chairman of the School ommittees' Association. There will also be a contest for the representation of the Central Ward. Dr. James Hight, the sitting member, was nominated, and tho Rev. I. A.. Bernstein and Mr H. Langford wero al_o nominated.
The polls for the South and Central Wards will be taken on the 26th inst., and will close at 6 p.m.
