CANTERBURY JOCKEY CLUB.
SUMMER MEETING.
CONCLUDING DAY
Racing will be continued at Riccarton to-day, when an excellent bill of faro will be submitted to tho patrons of the Canterbury Jockey Club. Most interest will naturally be centred in. the decision of the old-established Middle Park Plate, a race that numbers amongst its past viiinerti some of the greatest horses that have graced tho New Zealand Turf. There will not bo a big field for to-day's contest, probably not more than half a dozen, but nevertheless the race, promises to be fraught with interest. On past, form. Broadsword suinds out in a class by himself, but ho will hare to carry a ten pounds penalty, whereas Ingoda, who showed such excellent galloping ability in the Lyttelton Plato, escapes extra poundage. In tho handicap events the fields are of fair proportions, and altogether the prospects of a highclass day's'sport seem assured. A special train will leave for the course nt 12.45 p.m.. and there will l>o a frequent tram service from the iSquaro.
