Nestling cosily on the spacious upper floor of Messrs Whitoombe and TombVs buildings, on the shady side of Cashel street and within easy distance of the emporiums of fashion, the Cadena Tea Rooms opened under tho direction of Misses Fletcher and Trent, mark a newdeparture in tlio art of dainty entertaining. The large apartment dedicated to the delectable purpose noted, is most artistically furnished with wicker chairs, quaint tables, etc., tho coloar scheme being pink and gold. Tlio uso of curtains, permits of the rooms : being divided for tho purpose of private entertainments, it being intended to make provision for private suppers and evening parties. A distinct feature of the ostablishmsnt is the fact that the whole of the dainties utilised in the business are prepared on' the premises in a specially designed kitchen by Miss Trent, who has recently returned from England after having undergone n special course of study in all branches of the culinary art, in which she gained considerable distinction. Miss Trent also has had thorough experience in somo of the best London tea rooms, and- her knowledge, added to that gained by Miss Fletcher during her sojourn in Englaii- ; should ensure the most effective carry- j ing out of the venture they havo token ' in hand. In addition to providing dainty fare for afternoon tea, it is intended to undertake cotorjng in aE its \ branches and also to provide special dishes, to the order of clients, at their ; homes. . j The air of distinctiveness is sustained throughout tho wholo arrangements of the establishment, artistic china of special design has been provided, and the furnishings and appurtenances generally are thoroughly in keeping with most modern ideas upon the "most efficient and satisfying manner of catering to tho discriminating pnblic taste. The Cadena Tea Rooms (tho name, of Spanish origin, meaning "storehouse of good things") were opened with considerable eclat yesterday and promise to enjoy a useful and prosperous career. 4 ' i
