NOTES AND MEMORANDA.

A No-license meeting will be held at the Opera House to-morrow evening at 8.15. Tbe annual meeting of the Automobile Association will oe held at the rooms of the Pioneer Bicycle Club on Monday next ? at 8 p.m. Notice is given elsewhere by the Department that in cases where subscriptions to the Telephone Exchange are not paid by 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 14th, communication will be cut off. Services in connection with the tlffrtythird anniversary of Wesley Church (East Belt) will be celebrated on Sunday. In the morning the preacher will be the Rev. J. Mackenzie, M.A., and in the evening the Rev. W. Beady, and at both services sjiecial music will be given by the choir and friends. A musical service will also be given in the church commencing at 3 o'clock. Several solos and musical items will bo given by Mrs C. M. Brooke, Misses Field, Yore, and Sheltonj Messrs M. Woodward, W. Joll, D. S. Brown, and Yore Buchanan. Messrs W. H. Tisdall, Ltd., the wellknown Wellington firm, have opened a branch of their business in Cashel street, Christchurch, with a complete stock of guns, rifles, ammunition, fishing tackle, and all kinds of sports material snch as for cricket, tennis, golf, etc.. personally selecteu by Mr W. H. Tisdall on his recent visit to England. Hardy's fishing tackle is a speciality of the firm, and repairing work of all kinds in connection with sports material will be unuertaken.
