0 - ■ WORLD-WIDE PICTURES. The new programme of pictures at the Opera' House last - nignt drew a very largo audience, the theatre being fined to overflowing; and numbers haa to be refused admission. The pictures were amongst tho best that have been seen here. 'The.Bear Pets of Berne v was a capital illustration of tho gambols of the animals, and tho agility with which they climbed trees was quite a revelation.* The good old fairy tale ot "Beauty and the Beast" was another fine series of pictures. Two splendid dramatic subjects wero "The Border Limit" and "A Tragedy of Japan.'" In the former tho fatal results, of a neighbours' quarrel were depicted very tragically, and in the latter tho story was splendidly told, the pictures being wonderfully clear. "Tho Gold Prospectors," a very dramatjc series, was also excellent. In lighter vein, the lottery ticket subjects, "Wanted a Son-in-Law" and "The Apostle of Liberty" were all excellent. To-night the same bill will be repeated, and there will be the usual matineo to-morrow in addition to tho evening performance. - . .
