LADIES' HOCKEY.
TO THE EDITOR OF '"THE PRraS." Sir, —Might I make a suggestion to the Canterbury Ladies' Hockey Association. They are preparing to send a team to Wellington to play a team representatjve of Wellington province. It is desirable that the team leaving hero should be the best possible, and to that end stex>s should be taken to have a representative match played between South Canterbury and tho North Associations. As wo saw when the Rawhiti Club was here, hockey is of a high order in South Canterbury, and the inclusion of the Smith's best players would materially strengthen the team to uphold Canterbury's hockey honour. A representative team from South Canterbury would draw a big crowd, and if charges for admission were matlo the funds to pay the team's expenses would be considerably augmented. Tho South Canterbury ladies are great sports, and would, without doubt, send a representative team if invited by the Association here. —Yours, etc., ENTHUSIAST.
