ENQUIRY WANTED

LONDON, July 16
An influential deputation urged tbe Government to appoint a committee to enquire into tho cattle and meat supply, and also asked for the free importation of Canadian store cattle, and the admission of cattle slaughtered on arrival from a!! countries officially declared to bo free from disease.
Mr Asnuith vr&s sympathetic in hi* reply. . He said the quostion was one of importance, and he proposed to consult Lord Carrington (Board of Agri* culture), and Mr Churchill (Board of Trade) before coming to" a decision.
