A SUAVE REPLY.
A Christ church solicitor wrote to a Canterbury member of Parliament (nbo it. may be stated has left the district, and is not now seeking re-elec-tion), asking for a copy of the Practitioners Amendment Bill. Tho member suavely replied (telegraphs our Wellington correspondent), that while lie recognised the urgent necessity for the amendment of practitioners, he could find no such "Bill on tho Order Paper. Ho forwarded, however, a copy of that document, on which he -had marked si few Bills which appeared -to be germane to the enquirer's needs, •n'J he asked him to specify which of them he -wanted. Those marked were: Charges, Prevention of Quackery, Cruelty to Animals, and ' Underground Workers.
