UNEASINESS IN THE STATES
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW* YORK, January 17. Washington despatches report uneasiness, owing to sensational reports as to the distribution of the Japanese fleet. Admiral Saih, of Tokio, states that he is willing to make an announcement as to th© disposition of th© fleet, if there is any need for it to allay the great excitement, but the rumour Is hardly worth ctrtention. Mr Roosevelt, in thanking Doctor Grenna. the Brazilian President, for th© hospitality shown to the fleet, states that the American fleet exists only to protect peace against possible aggression, and justice against possible oppression.
