CLARKVILLE.

The Methodist Sunday Schools of Clarkville, Coutts Island, and Eyreton held a picnic on Saturday at Clarkville at Mr J. A. Clothier's, when there was an attendance of about three hundred. Prises were distributed and a cricket match was played between Eyreton and Clarkville, resulting in a win for the former. On Wednesday night, at Coutts laland, a social evening was spent, musical items were given by Kaiapoi friends. Sunday School prizes were distributed by the Rev. E. 0. Blamires. A vote of thanks, proposed by Mr James Merrin and seconded by Mr Kimpton, was carried to Mr W. Clark, who is in charge of the school. Refreshments were provided by the ladies of tho district.
