' The Auckland Society of Arte has forwarded the pictures selected'for''the purpose. of being hung in the space allotted to ■ that Society in the Art Gallery. h ;•-' ; The local photographers have been invited to submit proposal? in connection with the photographs of season ticket i holders to be placed on the season tickets. At a meeting of the Horticultural and Landscape Gardening Committee, it was resolved —"That the committee desires to place on record 1 its eenee of the invaluable services rendered and the artistic skill shown by Mr T. E. Pearson, head gardener, in the design* ing and structure of the Fernery, and of his invariable courtesy and attention to the mem bore of the committee -when they had occasion to confer /with him." Mr Pearson has returned to. hie duties at Rotorua. , ; \ One of the features of the Tourist Department's Courfrat the Exhibition will be the display.of stags' heads. There will be fifty" red deer heads from -the Wairarapa, about thirty from North Otago and Neleon, and also a number of fallow deer heads from Otago and Nelson. Tenders for the fruit and confectionery stalls were considered this week, when it was decided to accept the tender of the Exhibition Fruit and Confectionery Company. This, it ie understood, is a local company specially formed for the purpose. Tenders are being invited for the right to run the only restaurant in the Exhibition buildings. Copies of the conditions will be nvailable at the head office of the Exhibition and at tho offices of the Secretary of the local Advisory Committees in Auckland, Wellington, and Duoedin. The tenders will close on the 20th inst. at noon. , Steps are boing taken by the Exhibition authorities to arrange for the inspection and responsibility of keeping in perfect order the drainage system connected with the' Exhibition. Competent local firms are befog invited to submit offers to carry out tho required work. It has beeri definitely settled that the photograph of the holder of each 6e-ason ticket will bo affixed thereon. After considerable discussion on the merits of different systems which have been adopted this one has been finally decided upon.
