AVON.

Mr J. R. Brunt addressed an open air meeting at tho corner of Stanmore road and Hereford street lost night, Notwithstanding tlie inclement weather there was a large attendance of electors. Mr J. M. Taylor presided. Mr Brunt spoke for about half an hour, touching upon several of the questions of the day, and at tho close, on the motion of Mr Shaw, seconded by Mr Jamieson, was accorded a hearty rote of thanks and confidence. The motion was carried with hearty cheers. Last evening Mr T. Clarkeon concluded his campaign by delivering openair addresses at the corner of, Essex and Albert streets, Hullet's corner, Armagh street, the corner of Canal Reserve and Worcester street, the corner of Gmitcp and Charles streets, and tho corner of Stanmore road" end Worcester street. There were good attendances atiall the meetings. Numbers of questions .were asked at each meeting, and cheeis were given" as the candidate doparted to fill other engagements.
