DUNEDIN, August 3. ■ Tlio City Council to-night removed what was considered by many to be a most eerious objection to th*?'amalgamation of Caversliam with the city if Gwershnm proceeded with the street widening necessary for tramway purposes, a special rate to meet tlie interest on tho cost would bs charged on Cavcrsliam only. The City Council tonight passed a resolution that, in the event of amalgamation, the cost of street widening for tramway purposes S-hould bo spread over tho united area.
