THE VOLUNTEERS.

There was a good muster at the weekly parade of No. 7 Company Garrison Artillery Volunteer (N Battery), which took place on Wednesday niglit at the Lyttelton urillshed. Captain J. T. Brice was in command, and Lieutenants Wardle and Neville were present. The recruits were exercised in gun drill on tlie 64 pounder and the remainder of the company were given a lecture in tho orderly room on "Ammunition." Sergeant Brice, on behalf of No. 1 detachment, presented the company with a handsome framed picture of Queen Alexandra. At a general meeting of the Rangiora Rifles on Wednesday night, Colour-Sergeant G. Humphries was elected lieutenant in place of Lieut. T. R. Cretswell, who re-siem-d. owing to his being appointed captain of the High School Cadets.
