A debate took place on the question whether infantry ia superior to cavalry in •war. StaiF-Sergeant-Majdr Crespin and four other speakers supported tho contention that cavalry was the superior, whilst Staff-Sergeant-Major Hoa-re and four other speakers argued in favour of infantry. Tlie judges were Majors Crcswell and Snow, and on the arguments adduced, and on the "method in,which they were unfolded, they gave their decision in favour of those who argued that cavalry was superior to infantry in war. After the formal business was disposed of several toasts were honoured, and.Majors Crcswell and Snow, in the course of some remarks on the Club, spoke highly of its usefulness, and added that so long as it was conducted on the present lines they would be happy to give its members every assistance. Tlie weekly parade of No. 7 Company New Zealand Garrison ArtilUry was held on Wednesday night. There waa a muster of about 60, under the command of Captain J. T. Brice, : Lieutenants. Wardle, Neville and Clibborn. Captain Wall was present. -The men weie given instruction in various branches of artillery work. After the parade five new members were! elected. . '• "
