JAPANESE LANDING AT PORT ARTHUR.
s _____ UNCONFIRMED REPORT. LONDON, April 18. A steamer reaching Niuchwang reports seeing twenty-six ivaxships convoying a hundred Japanese transports in the Gulf of Pechili, steaming in the direction of Kaiohan. A later St. Petersburg telegram re porta that the Japane&e landed near Port Arthur, but were repulsed. The statement is unconfirmed.
