, NEW SOUTH WALES METAL REQUIREMENTS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. &YDNEY, April 18. Mr Sandford, of the Lithgow Ironworks, has been asked by the State Government to make a. contract for the supply of 50,000 tons of manufactured iron,steel, and pig-icon, at prices bawd on the average for the various • descriptions paid by the Government during the'-last five yebrs. If the terms are accepted, it will mean a contract for £300,000, spread over a period of five years. Mr Sandford will erect the necessary plant and undertake to return to the Government any money accruing in the event of a bonus on manufactured iron being paid by the Federal Government.
