PARISH MEETINGS.

The annual meeting of parishioners of Holy Trinity, Avonside, waa held on Friday, Canon Pascoe presiding. The Chairman stated that this was the twenty-fifth occasion on which he had presided over their annual gathering, and . he referred briefly to the steady progreas the church had made during that period. With reference to the re-building of the church, the architect had prepared plans, which ■bad been approved of, and which werd

now open, for inspection, and it was hoped tliat tlie work would be completed byChristmas Day, 1905, the jubilee of Avonside Church. The Vicar referred to 4 stone pulpit, which bad been given by one of their own parishioners, and which would be used for the first time on. Trinity Sunday. The accessories to the -pulpit hod already been received from a lady in England, in memory of her sister, ■who was buried in the church grounds. A stained glass window had aikeo recently been given by Mr W. Bashford, in mc« mory of hie late wife. In moving the adoption of the cburchwairdene , report and balance-sheet, Mr W. C. Aiken referred to the fact that over £1000 had been received during the past year, and that although there was an indebtedness of "£l2O ,6s 6d, it was hoped, by strict economy, that the finances would soon show a credit baiarfce. The re-building fund had now reached £1190 14s 10d, and it was resolved that the incoming vestry be authorised to complete the church, at an estimated cost of £2450. Canon Pascoe announced that he had appointed Mr P. M. Newton as hie warden, and the parishionert unanimously elected Mr S. A. Edinger as their representative. - The following were elected vestrymen: —Dr. Inglis, Colonel Slater, Messrs W. J. P. Boulton, Scott, C. Bean, W. S. Crichton, W. C. • Aiken, JR. 8. Ward, J. L.
