The principal retailers of New York. Chicago. Philadelphia, St. Louis, and San Francisco aro fignalories to the agreement. An active campaign is to be wagpd against European agents, from whose treatment American importere declare ttiey have suffered severely. These agents have each their l-rivnte" monopolies. A London importer, it ia said, controls the supply of Russian fir.vhes, while another directs the canary market. An American agent monopolises the whole available stock of Cuban par-rct-3, and the man who finds the.monkeys hns the dealers at his mercy. The trust is intended to end the woes of the retailer.
