THE CRICKET MATCH.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE PRESS. Sir, —Permit me to call your attention to an error in to-day's report of the cricket match v England, viz., "The New Zealand score of 214 was a good and very even performance, only two- men losing their wickets without getting into double figures." Hickson 7 and McCarthy not out 4 were two. but Callaway was bowk-d for 0, and this last fact is not recorded in your score of the second innings, which shows thft names of only ten batsmen. I should not trouble you with this if I did. not think that some people may file your report and refer to it at a future time as an absolutely correct one. The mistake was, of purely accidental.—Yours, etc., NEMO. (Our reporter's statement that only two of ihs New Zealand' cricketers lost their wickets in the second innings without getting into double figures was literally accurate. A man has not "lost his wicket" who is "not out."— Ed. "The Press.")
