NEW ZEALAND COUNCIL.

The- New Zealand Cricket Council met yesterday afternoon, when there were present the Hon. E. C. J. Stevens (in the chair), and Messrs Carter, Meares, Clark, Treeweek," Fowke, Boddington, Wanklyn, Vincent, .Tapper, Hel|yer, Bumby, and Raphael (secretary). A letter was read frem t4_e Adelaide Association, inquiring whether a match with Lord Hawbe's team could be arranged for Adelaide. The Cl__rman said that at his suggestion a reply had been sent that it was doubtful whether the team would have time to play at Adelaide. It was decided to hold the jumusi meeting of the Cbuncil at 8 o'clock' on Saturday, October 4th. The next meeting was fixed for Thursday, at 8.
