WRONGFUL SEIZURE OF DOCUMENTS.

(PBSSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUNEDIN, September 12,

The case Barnett and Grant v IJetective Campbell came up at the Supreme Court. Plaintiffs had claimed damages for the wrongful' seizure of books and documents. The Court gave judgment for defendant, but this was reversed by the Appeal Court, and the case now came up to assess the damages and costs. Mr Justice Williams tsaid it had been a very proper case to go to appeal, as the question involved was almost a constitutional one. Following the example of a case at Invercargill, he would allow £5 and costs on the lowest scale.
