THE WEATHER.

Yesterday morning the warm sunshine melted most of the snow in the different parts of the city, and the streets presented a very muddy appearance. Last evening a slight rain set in.

Our correspondent at Okain's Bay writes: —The severest storm experienced in this district for some years raged from Wednesday last till Saturday. It was, perhaps, all the more felt after the long spell of fine weather which preceded it. With a strong son-west wind, rain, hail, and snow fel in turns, till the hills had a thick costing of snow, whioh also lay for two days on the flat. With Sβ warm sun of Sunday, however, the latter disappeared; but the hilts are likely to njmain white for some time. Stock of all kinds must suffer, more especially on the higher ridges. There is every appearance of the sharp frost of Sunday morning being followed by others. The roads are, of course, in a rather sad condition.
