A blockhouse opened fire, causing a panic among forty Boers "who -were attempting to cross the line to the westward of Pan. A loaded waggon waa captured. Viljoen's oommando has crossed northwards, going from Rhenoster Kop to the bush veld, where food is plentiful. (Received May 25th, 1.16 a.m.) LONDON, May 24. ■ It is reported at Delagoa that a big fight took place on the 16th near Barberton. The British had 61 casualties and the Boers suffered heavily. The news is not confirmed. The Boers killed Private Archibald Wookey, of tbe New Zealand Rough-Riders, while he was attempting to escape. (PBES& ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, May 24. The Premier has received advice that Private of, the Canterbury section of tha Filth Contingent, was killed at Boornbult.
