ON THE WAY TO BRISBANE.
United Press Association—By Electrio Telecraph—Copyright (Received January 14th, 9.36 a.m.) SYDNEY, January 14. The Indian troops sailed for Brisbane last ( -ii-ht, and had a coidial send-off. Sir Wm. l.vne th inked them for their presence at the inauguration of the Commonwealth. Tha Imperial troops leave for Brisbane today. The Right Hon. E. Barton, addressing the men. emphasised that without ink and without parchment a bond had been formed xt-vecn all parts of the Empire whic/i meant jut what was called aggressive militarifm, Because there wan no military aggression, but an understood compact, which meant that whenever any part ot" the Empire was attacked, every nerve and every sinew of the Empire would be strained to repel the attack. (Received January 14th. 10.9 p.m.) SIDNEY, January 14. The New Zealand troops left by the Orient mis afternoon, via Brisbane. A party of New Zealaiidert on board Mr Witheford's launch accompanied them down the harbour. The returning soldiers were cheered by the jiian-o'-war's men as they passed the fleet. later on, tho Britannic, with the Imperial men, got away, but remain* in the harbour till tho morning. She also goes to Brisbane. The Governor-General, Mr Barton, and other notables took farewell of the troops aboard tho vessel. (Received January 15th, 12.41 a.m.) BRISBANE, January 14. Arrangements have been made by which the QueeiislunderH will he taken off the Orient in the buy, and the vessel sent to New Zealand without delay.
