DUNEDIN'S RECEPTION TO THE ORIENT MEN.
(SPECIAI, TO "THE PRESS.") DUNEDIN, January 11. Only about 20 attended the meeting of all committee.", in connection with the reception to the men on the Orient. After two hours' desultory discussion the meeting got to the length of deciding to bring the men from Port Chalmers by railway, and to parade them through the streets to Forbury Park. Other arrangements were left in the hands of the Programme Committee. The committee have lost two live members in Messrs Mills and Kempthorne, the former resigning on account of his coming departure for London, and the latter owing to pressure of business.
