There was a large attendance at the Geral- j dine live stook sale on Wednesday, and a i capital sale. The entry of sheep was about j 10,000. Ewes and lambs, all counted, : brought 9s lid, 10s sd, and lis lOd; young i ewes and lambs, all counted, 13s lOd; twotooth maiden ewes. 12s 6d ; fat ewes, 14s 3d : to 15s ; merino ewes, 6s 4d ; failing mouth halfbred ewes, 12s; four, six, and fir«-tooth ewes, 14s 2d; small two-tooths, 13s 8d; two-tooth wethers, 15s Id, 16s lOd, to 17s; a nice line of store lambs sold at 12s 6d. The sheep from Tripp's station also sold well; halfbred ewes bringing 15s, 15s Id, and 15s 4d. There was a 1 __!*_.e entry* of cattle. Fat heifers __1J at £5 10... £6"17s 6d, to £7; fat cows, £5 10s, £_ ss, £7, to £8 2s 6d; springing «;>ws, £4 10s to £5,105; steers, two and thre. years old, £5 10s; calves, 245. Pigs—stores, ss, 9s 3d, 10s 6d, lis; weaners, ss, 7s 6d, to 9s; porkers, 21s.
At a well-attended land sale at Rangiora en Tuesday, Mr W. Buss Fold in the estate of the late G. Topp, north of the Ashley l.iver, Saltwater Creek: —Lot 3, 21 acres 1 rood 26 perches, was sold to Wyliie Bros., at £36 p.r acre; Lot 2. 50 acres 3 roods 9 perches, sold at £58. also to Wyliie Bros. The homestead, 90 acres, was withdrawn at
£35 **er acre. At an auction sale tit Rangiora, by Mr W. Buss, on Tuesday, six New Zealand Farmers' Co-operative Association paid-up shares brought £2 10s ; seven Sefton Dairy Pactory. £2 10s : seven North Canterbury Co-operative Stores Company, £1 7s 6d; five North Canterbury Saleyards paid-up, no offer.
