THE UNION COMPANY'S INTENTIONS.

Mr Jamei Mills, Managing Director of *4b Union Company, in the cours. of an interview with a "Daily Times" representative, respecting the Union Company having secured an interest in the Vancouver service, said the question of the substitution of a three weekly for a monthly service was under consideration. In tha meantime the present service will 1m continued. the. Moana replacing the Warrirnoo. the hitter coming into the intercolonial .. ivice. The quejtion ot future developments and of the extension of service to New Zealand had not been fiil-v considered, tho latter point being entirely dependent on the. amount of' supjx>rt the service- would receive from the New Zealand Parliament. Tho suggested alternative, ~f extending the .ervice to New Zealand is the establishing of a branch to Mji. -Mr Spreckels was anxious that the Union Company .hould continue to net as ■gents for the Oceanic Company till Aoril but in view of their taking up the Van--OUver service that was impossible.
