The quejtion ot future developments and of the extension of service to New Zealand had not been fiil-v considered, tho latter point being entirely dependent on the. amount of' supjx>rt the service- would receive from the New Zealand Parliament. Tho suggested alternative, ~f extending the .ervice to New Zealand is the establishing of a branch to Mji. -Mr Spreckels was anxious that the Union Company .hould continue to net as ■gents for the Oceanic Company till Aoril but in view of their taking up the Van--OUver service that was impossible.
