OREYMOUTH, October 2. The Greymouth G;w Works wen:- formally taken over by the Grey Borough Council ulday, when £16,000 was paid'i'or the plant and good-wiU, and £850 for the stock in hand, which had not been used, making a total of £16,850. At a convivial meeting to mark the occasion, nhe directoi-s oi the .selling company, as well as the members of tiie Borough Council, eulogised Messrs Kkoglund and Kennedy for the services they had rendered in the past, and highly complimenctd the latter for his economical and painstaking method of running the works, as a re- , suit of which good dividends were paid. Mr Kennedy is being retained by the Borough as gas manager.
