At the invitation of the Mayor of Sydenham (Mr B. P. Manhircj, a large number of \?sYft ol k. . Vho leaves shortly tor India, to rejoin his regiment (Hydei-nhad Lancers), assembled at the Eu-gvcveeT-s , "fiavA xoom, Sydennam, "iast nignt, to bid him good-bye. The Mayor presided. xfae toasts honoured were "The Queen," "The oi "New ZeaVand," "The Army, Navy, and Volunteers" (proposed by Mr Allison, and responded to by Captain Andrew, and Lieutenant- Muller), "Onr Guest, Captain Andrew" (proposed by the Mayor, and spoken to by Messrs T. S' Fos- • ter, Jas. Tavlor, and J. MeGallan), "Our Boys at the Front" (proposed by Mr T S Foster, and responded to by Alf T. Gapes) "His Worship the Mayor,' "and "Sydenham Borough Council." During the " evening song 3 were given by Messrs Mortlin, Hunt Round, Sim, T. Joll. and S. Williamson, and recitations by Messrs S. Lawrence, and W Hall. ' '
