Twenty Gordon Highlanders were killed by the exploding of Boer ammunition seized at Komati Poort. (Received October 3rd, IJEO a.m.) LONDON, October 2. Only two of the Gordon Highlanders were killed in the eiploeion at Komati Poort. Eighteen were wounded. THE BOERS AND THE MERCENARIES. (Received October 3rd, 12.30 a.m.) LONDON, October 2. It transpires that the Boer Executive paid the passages of 400 mercenaries, and that 30s was also paid each at the time of sailing, and £8 10s on landing.
