The Emperor of China has addressed an edict to the Kaiser, stating that he ordered official oblations to be offered over Baron de Ketteler's coffin, and that the Chinese MiniHter at Berlin will make oblations on the arrival of the coffin there. Hβ appeals to the Kaiser to negotiate for peace. Another letter expresses regret to the Emperor of Japan for the murder of the secretary of the Japanese Legation at Pekin, end orders funeral oblations.
