ARCHBISHOP REDWOODS SERMON.
10 THB EDITOR OJTTHB I'OESS. Sir,—"Anglo-Catholic" would have your readers believe he \ribL lie tenets and customs of the Church wbiEii Archbishop Redwtwd represents. It wauEl be folly to attempt by argument to-convince linn otherwise. Bnt what possible effect can a writer make on your readers who quotes as correct, the- paragraph from the "Christian," attributing to Bisisap Ryaa Jauguage only tolerable from a.lunaiic. It is amazing to what depths of lying some persons will sink in order to injure- their 'fellowman. The very construction of this "notable speech.," attributed "to Kishop llvxn, stigmatises it as a pure fabrication, lurespuctive of its "wild words." Let mc c|uete-only tw-o words from tiie quetution. to prove this, ''Holy Pope," and-ask/your readers •where else, besides the "Christian," Larve-tbey read them, or ever heard Ciri.bolica utter them? We frequently Itear "Holy M<azy, Mother of God," "Our Holy Holier the Church," or "Our Holy Fatlter the l J oj>e, ,; but never "Holy Pope." I trust "AngJoCatliolic" will endeavour to bind siall more closcry the good feeling 'already existing between Catholics and: in • Ciin-ber-buiy by a litlie more-charitj to those amongst whom he lives.— • Yours, etc., October 2nd, 1900.
