TIMARU SUPREME COURT.
At the Supreme Court at Timaru yesterday Andrew Samuel Wixon, & half-caste youth, for breaking into a fishing hut at WaltaJti and stealing waders, etc.. to the value of 30s, the property of J. Mitchell, was sentenced to three months' hard labour. Peter Melville Grunt and George Leretw, Tcmuka young men, pleaded guilty of breaking into "the tailwuy station at Temuka on August 14th, and stealing a watch and chain and railway tickets. Accused were admitted to probatioi for twelve months, »ud to pay £5 each towards the cost of the prosecution. Most of the day was occupied with ii case of sheet) stealing. Ellis Mills, a butcher, and W. Millington, were charged with stealing 69 fat sheep and 74 stores. Th?v we 1 * 8 foaod guilty on &* *"** charge, and olciided guilty on the second, and were recommended to 'mercy. Mills was sentenced to eighteen months imprisonment, and the other, who had been three months in gaol awaiting trial, te fifteen month* imprisonment.
