Corzan-Siggers pokxted out that the victory meant the prevention of a general rising against the British, which would have cost thousands of irvee, and hence, from a humanitarian point of view, as saving from greater woe, it was a thing to be thankful for. At the evening service a epecial hymn was sung, written by the vicar for the kst Jubilee, of whkh lie had altered the latter part of the fnt verse. The first verse ie as follows :-— Rejoice to-day with one accord, Sing oat with eraltetion; "Unite to praise our mighty Lord For mercies w> our notion; Our victory at Glencoe Saves Africa from woe, For this our thanks ascend. All mourners, Lord, befriend I For victory, Lord, we prake Thee!
