LETTER FROM MAJOR ROBIN'S FATHER.

WELLINGTON, October 21.
The following is the full text of the lefctej from Major Rcirin's father, read by the Premier tlue afternoon:— "DucediSt l&Sh October, 1899. To the officers and men oE the Transvaal Contingent,—l am ewry I cannot possibly l>e presant with you to-day to bid you God speed; but I canaot let this opportunity slip of addressing in you a few words. Many kind friends ar>a writing us to «ay that the colonkl troops will be so placed as not to bs «p««d to danger. Wβ thank them very much for thair kind solicitude ; but as you will, I understand, form an integral paifc of the Imperial army, you will no doubt be found in tb» piace where duty cxYjs, ttnid taii'ng your fair share in the army's work, whatever that may be. I feel confident that you will follow wjferever you are led, and should you fac3 the enemy in the field of bafetle V 'tha.t you will co comport yonxselves as it you felt tiat on each of your own individual aims hung victory.
