I The Synod resumed at 7.30 p.m., and Mr W. G. Brittan moved the second reading of the Bill to amend financial regulations with reference to parochial loans. The objecb of the Bill, the mover explained, warn to replace in the regulations, a clause omitted last year, securing loans "by the personal bond of guarantors" approved by the Chraroh. Property Trustees. Mr D. Thomas seconded th§ motion, which met with muoh opposition, 'amd went to a division, which resulted in its rejection— : Ayes, clergy 16, laity 20; clergy 24,; laity 16. ._■■:■■• ■ r .*,.'■;'"' "■ ■ I Mr B. Hill-Fisher movfed the second reading of the Bill to amend, and to give the force of regulations to, the resolutions concerning the Clergy Widows' and Orphans* Trust Fund. . Progress was reported, the Committee obtained leave to sit again on Friday e.vendog, and the Synod adjourned until 4 p.m. to-day.
