The total quantity of wheat and flour afloat for tbe United Kingdom is 1,940,000 quarters, and for the Continent 1,400,000 quarters. Bank shares—Bank of Australasia, £62 15s; Bank of New South Wales, £41; Union Bank, £33 IDs; National Bank of New Zealand, £2 10s; Bank of New Zealand 4 per cent, guaranteed stock, 101_; New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's 4 per cent prior lien debentures, 92. At the tallow soles 1125 casks were offered, of which 117 were sold. Mutton, fine, 28s 6d; medium, 275. Beef, fine, 27s 9d; medium, 26s 3d. The A_*ario_n visible supply of wheat is 69,218,000 busheSs. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from their London office, under date 18th inst: — "Since our last telegram prices of tallow in general are 3d to 6d per cwt. lower. Speculators are forcing the sales of parcels and shipments afloat at a low price. As a result, tallow prices may go lower yet. The demand is chiefly for November-December shipment per sailer."

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company have received the following London cable message, dated 18th inst.: "Wheat—Market inactive. New Zealand average and long-berried are worth respectively 30a 6d and 31s 6d per 4961b. "Tallow—-Market flat. New Zealand fine and good beef are worth respectively 28s 6d and 27s 3d per cwt."
