Voyou wae sent a couple of miles, finishing the first in even time, while the second occupied lmin S2sec, finishing well. La Carabine wound up a mile and a quarter in 2min 25sec. Scorn was associated with Revenue in a similar task, being brought home by Delusire, the journey taking 2min 17£ sec to accomplish; Scorn finished in great style. Fleet Admiral, Flodden, and Goodwill were restricted to useful pacing. Cranberry was sent a mile and a half, but did not go particularly well. Contrast finished a mile and a half in 2min 50£ sec, and Burrabari the same distance in 2min SOsec. Promontory covered a mile and three furlongs in 2min 33sec. WarGod, with neck sweaters on, went steadily. Cremona beat Parthian over a mile in lmin 48sec. Mora went one and a quarter miles in . 2min 15sec pleasingly. Merry Pilgrim, Cordite, and Reviver did the same distance in 2min 17Jsec, the last mile in lmin 49sec. Olenroy did six furlongs in lmin 20soc. Loch Fyne did a similar journey in Ijsec longer, and AJemene covered the distance in lmin 21sec. Town Clock ran the Cup distance in 2min 35£ sec. Qauleon and Repeater did a mile and a quarter, Gauleon having a length or two advantage, but it was only a fair gallop, finished in 2min 18isec. Following is ihe latest betting on the Caulfield Cup: —5 to 1 against Dewey, who is a firm favourite; 7to 1 Mora; Bto 1 Scorn; 10 to 1 Egypt; 16 to ILa Carabine, Oauleon, Cocce, and KoboM; 20 to 1 Dirk Hammerhand ,25 to 1 Ballistite. 100 to 2 has been accepted about Surge to win £5000. Derby betting:—3 to 1 Scorn; 4 to 1 Cranberry ;5 to 1 Lancaster; 7 to 1 Tremardfen. The backers of Cranberry will be judicious to wait for the day of tie race, to ascertain the intentions of the stable. Following are the tips for the Caulfield Cup:—The "Leader" selects Mora, Egypt, or Scorn; the "Australasian," Scorn or Dewey, La Carabine or Dirk Hammerhand. Later.
