The musical and elocutionary contests in | connection with the Bond of "Hope Union ■were continued la/st night ia the Ohoral Hall. The programme included vocal solos, recitations, amd clarionet solos. The following were the prize winners on Monday and Tuesday:— Monday—Model Baud of Hope address: 2, Miaa Moor, Y/oolstoa. Piano aoloa—Class B: 1, Charlotte Barker, Linwood Congregational; equal second, Q. M. Robinson, Adrlington, and P. Orchard, Kaiapoi; 3, Olive Collier, East belt. Flute and piano—Class C: 1, J. and E. Jamieson, East belt. Vocal solos— Clas« C: 1, M. Alexander, Marshlands; equal second, Messrs Rodda and Freeman, Selwyn street. Tuesday—Recitations — Claae B: Equal first, Daisy Marqurt, Woolston, and Maud 'Rove, East Belt; 2, Alice Bruneden, ■Wo6kton. Vocal solos—Class C: 1, Miss Squires, Selwyn street;. 2, Miss Hoare, Selwyn street. Piano solos—Claes A: 1, Adeline, Pratt, East belt; 2, Elsie Butterfield, Croice'nt "road; 3, Lily Harper, Richmond. Piano duet—Class B: Misses Orchard and Ellen, Kaiapoi.
