Scott, the Organising secretary of the Church Mwsrion Fund, presented hia report from -which it appeared tliafc during the year the overdraft of £245 was reduced to £110. The general income £ o®, f ?° d exceeded the general expenditure oy x>lls. Leave was gi yen to Mr W. G. Brittan to introduce a Bill to amend financial regulations with reference to parochial loans, <md the Bill was read a first time. : Leave was given Mr R. Hill Fisher to introduce a Bill to amend, and to give *he I force of regulations to, the resolutions concerning the Clergy, Widows and Orphans Trust Fund, and the Bill was read a first time. The second reading of both Bills was made an order of the day for Thursday. ilr H. D. Andrews moved, on behalf of the Standing Committee—"That, in accordance witih the recommendation of tie Standing Committee, and in order to enable the Bishop to make a permanent appointment to the office of Diocesan Inspector of Schools, the Synod authorises and directs that the stipend of such inspector as a Diocesan officer at the rate of £300 a year for the ensuing twelve months be paid "out of the income of the Bishopric Estate, after payment of the statutory and other charges thereon having priority." Mr Brittan seconded the motion, to which an amendment was moved to strike out the words, "for the ensuing twelve months." j The motion was carried on the voices. 1 The Rev. W. A. Pascoe moved—"That the Synod give its consent to the proposed j alteration in the boundaries between tbe I parish of Avonside and the parochial disI trict of New Brighton, viz., striking out from the description of the present boundaries of the parochial district the words. 'And rural section 8776 to the tram line,' and inserting in lieu thereof To the N.E. corner of R.S. 8776, thence along the boundary between R.S. 8776 and Reserve 1054 to the tram line, thence along the tram line to Reserve 212/" The motion was carried. On the motion of the Yen. Archdeacon Harper, the thanks o? tKe Synod were eiven to the President for his synodical address, and he was asked to allow it to be printed. j
