PERSONAL ITEMS.

Captain Willis was a passenger from the South by the express last night. Mr R. C. Grigeby, Auckland, ia in town. Mr A. L. Allan, Hawke's Bay, is in town. Mr W. N. Bond is visiting town. Mr W. A. P«aree, U.S.A., is in Chriatehurch. Mr and Mrr A. Symont were passengers for the South by the express yesterday morning. Mr T. H. Hyland was also a passenger. Mr C. J. Ayrea was a passenger for the South by the express yesterday. Mr S. Kirkpatrick, Nelfon, was a passenger for the North by last bight's steamer. Mr F. H. Barker, Orari, is in town. The Rev. L. M. leitt west South by the express yesterday morning.
