The annual railway report shows a net profit of £1,157,000, but after paying interest there was a lose of £295,000. The loss on the non-paying branch lines was £308,000. THE QUEENSLAND PARLIAMENT. BRISBANE, September 13. Parliament was opened to-day by the Governor with the usual ceremonies. The speech was as forecasted/The mover and seconder of the Addrese-in-Reply contended that Parliament was bound to accept the result of the referendum. A DARING ROBBERY. BRISBANE, September 13. A-daring robbery has taken,place at the Branch Poet Oflice Savings. Bank. . The officials, on arriving this morning, discovered the night officer lying unconscious partially dressed. There were contusions on his head and breast, and slight concussion of the brain. He was unable to give any account of the affair. The «afet were rifled, and about £150 is missing.
